Stars is a starfield that surrounds your scene: thousands of points of light on a large sphere seen from the inside, so it reads as a night sky or deep space in every direction. A few stars are large and bright, most are small, and each one twinkles gently at its own rhythm.

How it works

The stars are scattered over the sphere and given a mix of colours, mostly white with some cooler blue and warmer yellow stars, and a spread of sizes in which bright stars are rare. Each one slowly pulses in size on its own timing, which reads as twinkling. The object's scale sets the size of the sphere. When the scene's day and night cycle is running, the stars fade out through sunrise and come back after sunset. The field never turns by itself; give the object a spin effect to make the sky rotate.

Settings

  • Count: from 500 to 20,000 stars.
  • Star Size: the size of every star.
  • Opacity: how strongly the field shows.
  • Color: a tint over the stars' own white, blue and yellow mix.

Star Size, Opacity and Color can be keyframed on the timeline or tied to the cursor, so the sky can brighten or shift colour as a visitor moves.

Use it for

Night skies, space scenes, dreamy backgrounds and calm hero sections. Combine it with Shooting Stars, or set up a full day and night cycle.
