3D Cursors
Interactive 3D cursors for websites: comet trails, lightning, liquid metal, ferrofluid, glyph rings and more, plus click bursts.
A 3D cursor is something alive that follows the visitor's mouse through your scene: a comet trail, crackling lightning, a blob of liquid metal, a ring of glowing glyphs. It is one of the quickest ways to make a page feel interactive, because visitors see it respond the moment they move.
The cursors
- Trails: Comet Trail, Aurora Ribbon Trail, Plasma Whip, Magic Sparkles and Bubbles leave something behind as the mouse moves.
- Electricity: Plasma Lightning and Tesla Discharge crackle with arcs and pulses.
- Something that follows: Energy Orb with layered colours and a pulse, Aura Glow, Liquid Metal Blob that keeps morphing, and Ferrofluid with spikes reaching out.
- Interface: Holographic Crosshair, which can show a label, and Holographic Glyph Ring.
How the cursor meets the scene
Pick mode decides how the cursor relates to your objects:
- Raycast scene snaps it to the objects under the mouse, so it slides over a product's surface.
- Raycast plane floats it on a plane at a set Plane distance and reacts on hover.
- None keeps it out of the scene's way entirely.
Idle fade (ms) fades the cursor out when the mouse stops, so it never sits frozen in the middle of the page.
Click actions
A click can fire a burst of its own: Shockwave Ripples, Sparkles Burst, Bolt Flash, Reality Tear, Implosion Pulse, Voronoi Fracture, Phase Shift, Plasma Bomb or Glyph Inscription, each with its own colour, size and Duration (ms). Pair a click action with a cursor of the same theme, such as Plasma Lightning with Bolt Flash, or Magic Sparkles with Sparkles Burst.
Settings
Every cursor shares Color, Scale, Intensity and Opacity. Each type then adds its own: Particle count and Lifetime (ms) on the sparkles, Metalness, Roughness and Morph speed on the liquid metal blob, Inner color and Outer color on the orb, Outline color and Show label on the crosshair. You can add more than one cursor, and each can be switched on and off on its own.
How to choose
- Tech, AI and developer products: Tesla Discharge, Plasma Lightning, Holographic Crosshair.
- Luxury, product and automotive: Liquid Metal Blob, Ferrofluid, Aura Glow.
- Playful, kids and food brands: Bubbles, Magic Sparkles.
- Music, nightlife and events: Aurora Ribbon Trail, Plasma Whip, Comet Trail.
- Fantasy and games: Holographic Glyph Ring, Energy Orb.
Keep the cursor in the same colour family as the scene, and let one strong idea carry it: a single trail reads better than three stacked effects.
