GLTF 3D Models
GLTF is the text form of glTF, the open 3D format for the web. Bring a GLTF into 3DRise and restyle it with materials and effects.
GLTF (.gltf) is the text form of glTF, the open 3D format made for the web. The file is readable text that describes the model's parts, materials and layout; the geometry and textures are either embedded inside it or kept as separate .bin and image files beside it. It is the same format as GLB, with the same materials, just stored differently.
GLTF or GLB
The text form is handy while you work: you can open it, inspect it and swap a texture file without re-exporting. For a live scene, one self-contained file is simpler. When you upload a model to 3DRise you send a single file, so use a .gltf with its data embedded, or export GLB, which is always one file. Both describe materials in physical terms, base colour, metalness and roughness, so the model looks the way you set it up.
In the studio
Upload a .gltf of up to 50MB from the objects panel, or paste a link to one. Draco-compressed geometry is supported. In the scene the model is an object like any other: place and scale it, restyle it with library materials as a whole or part by part, hide or move single parts, and give it object effects that run on a click, on hover or as part of an action.
Before exporting, name the parts you plan to change, apply scale and rotation, and keep textures to the size they are seen at.

Works well with
Slats
Pictures cut into thin vertical slats lit by the scene: inactive ones stand nearly edge-on as fine grey lines, the active one turns its slats to face you in a soft wave, closing into the picture; the cursor turns the slats near it. Use for architecture, interiors and product showcases.
Gallery layoutAluminum
Bright, lightweight aluminum with high reflectivity and slight surface roughness
MetalBasic
The six standard 3D surface materials, from unlit flat color to physically based paint, clearcoat and cel shading. How each one takes light.
MaterialBasic Carousel
A coverflow carousel of framed pictures on a damped scroll with drag, throw and snap, a lifted centre frame and a soft floor reflection; the cursor tilts or lifts the frames. Use for portfolios, product lines and photo sets.
Gallery layoutBasic Grid
A plain floor grid of cells and section lines that fades into the distance. A clean ground reference for product, layout and architecture scenes.
GridBirch
Very pale, almost white birch with a matte finish. For Scandinavian interiors, plywood furniture and bright minimal scenes.
