Projector
The picture as projected light on a matte screen, thrown from a lens above, with a visible haze beam and dust lit by the image; a change racks focus and slides the next slide through the gate. Use for cinema, exhibitions, moody and nostalgic scenes.

Projector shows your picture as light thrown onto a matte screen from a lens hanging above and in front of it. The beam is visible in the hazy air, dust drifts through it lit by the colours of the picture, and a picture change is a slide change.
How it works
Screen, beam and dust all read the same projected picture, so they always agree: every part of the beam carries the colour of the spot it lands on, fading with distance from the lamp. On a change the lens racks out of focus, the old slide slides out of the gate as the new one slides in, its edge passing over the screen as a soft shadow, and focus comes back with a small overshoot. It makes its own light and leaves the scene's lights untouched.
Settings
- Throw and Lens height set where the lens hangs.
- Haze sets how much the beam shows in the air; Dust, Dust drift and the dust count fill it with motes.
- Defocus and Hunt shape the focus change; Flicker, Vignette and Screen gain set the lamp's character.
- Lamp colour warms or cools the light.
Cursor
Stir swirls the dust where the cursor crosses the beam; Hotspot leans the lamp's bright centre toward it. Lean turns the whole object slightly toward the cursor.
Use it for
- Cinema, film festival and exhibition scenes
- Moody, nostalgic and retro storytelling
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More image
Contour
The picture as a topographic map of itself: a change opens it into hairline contour lines that lift into a floating stack in depth and flow continuously into the new picture's contours before it fills back in. Use for tech, data, science and architecture.
Engraving
The picture as an ink engraving on paper, fine strokes laid along its own isophotes, dense where it is dark, at a depth set by brightness; a change lifts and turns every stroke to the new picture's flow like filings in a field. Use for luxury, editorial, banknote and art direction.
Frost
A print behind a pane of real glass; a change is a breath of frost that feathers in from the edges, blurs the print through the glass, and clears from the centre to reveal the new picture; the cursor wipes the glass. Use for winter, luxury, beauty and calm editorial.
Lenticular
A lenticular print: fine lenses over interleaved strips of the old and new picture; a change sweeps the flip across the sheet and depends on the viewing angle, with ribbed clearcoat highlights from the scene light. Use for collectibles, posters, fashion and retail.
Pinscreen
The picture as a pinscreen of fine metal pins, each standing out by the brightness under it with a domed head in the picture's colour; a change is a pressure wave that sinks the pins and raises the new relief. Use for tech, product and sculptural heroes.
Prism
The picture printed across a row of slim triangular prisms; a change turns each prism a third of a turn in a travelling wave, its faces passing through the scene light, to show the next picture. Use for signage, retail, product and campaign heroes.
Works well with
Aura Glow
An aura glow cursor: a soft iridescent halo with electric tendrils that follows the mouse. For wellness, magic and dreamy scenes.
CursorAurora Ribbon Trail
An aurora cursor: a ribbon of northern lights trails the mouse, flowing green, cyan and magenta. For night, nature, winter and dreamy scenes.
CursorBronze
Aged bronze with darker tones and patina effect, perfect for statues and antique objects
MetalComet Trail
A 3D comet cursor: a glowing head with a fading tail of light that follows the mouse across your scene. For space, sci-fi and night sites.
CursorDepth of Field
Depth of field post-processing: blur everything in front of or behind the focus, like a camera lens, to draw the eye to your subject.
Post-processing effectFerrofluid
A ferrofluid cursor: a glossy blob of magnetic liquid that grows spikes in the direction you move the mouse. For science, tech and dark luxury.
