Pond
A garden pond: murky green water with wind ripples drifting across it, sized by the transform. Use for parks, gardens, courtyards and nature scenes.
Canal
A canal: dark water running slowly along a long narrow strip (a current along its length), sized by the transform. Use for city streets, harbours and waterways.
Lake
A lake: wind-blown inland water with short steep waves on a fine grid, sized by the transform. Use for parks, landscapes and city waterfronts.

Waterfall
An aerated sheet of water falling from a lip into a plunge pool: ropes and surges that stretch as the water accelerates, glassy at the lip and white with foam at the foot, a boiling pool streaking foam outward, mist rising from the base and spray off the edges, lit by the scene sun and sky. Use for cliffs, gardens, hotel atriums and fantasy scenes.
