Rain beads makes an object wet. Water drops land on the surface and catch the light, each with a glossy highlight, a dark rim where it bends the light and a small bright spot on the side away from the light. Where it is wet, the surface darkens and turns glossy. On the steep sides some drops break loose and slide down, wiping a wet trail behind them that leaves a few tiny beads, and they keep sliding while the effect holds. Reversing dries it: the beads shrink away and the wet sheen fades.
How it works
Every drop is a small dome that bends the scene's own lighting, so the drops look right under any light. Drops always slide toward the real ground, whichever way the object is turned.
Settings
- Rain arrives: the direction the wetness spreads over the object, top to bottom by default. - Drops: how many drops across the object. - Drop size: fine mist or big beads. - Sliding drops: how many of them run down the sides. - Wetness: how much the surface darkens and shines. - Water: the tint of the water. - Duration: 3 seconds.
Use it for
Cold drinks and bottles, skincare and freshness, cars and outdoor gear in the rain, moody weather scenes. Set the scene with fog or clouds, or pair a wet product with an Ocean surface below it.
