Float makes an object hover in the air: a soft bob up and down that never quite repeats, a gentle sideways drift, and a slight lean into that drift, the way something light hangs in the air.
How it works
The bob is made of three slow waves at speeds that never line up, so the motion does not visibly loop even when watched for a long time. A second, slower set of waves moves it a little sideways, and it banks into that drift, leaning the way it is moving, which is what makes it feel suspended rather than mechanically bobbing. It eases in when switched on and settles back to rest when switched off. It is layered over the object's own position and animation, so it combines with other effects.
Settings
- Bob: how far it rises and falls, as a share of its height.
- Drift: how far it wanders sideways.
- Bank: how much it leans into its drift.
- Speed: how fast the whole motion runs.
- Duration: one pass of building up, moving and settling; with Loop on it keeps going.
Use it for
Hero products, floating islands, spaceships and logos: scenes that should feel alive without drawing attention. Keep it on the object with Loop, run it on click or hover (triggering again settles it), or switch it on in an action. Combine with Rotate for a slow turntable in the air, or pair it with Glow.
More object effects
Rotate
Turn steadily about its own axes — spins up, and coasts to a stop facing the way it started
Object effectSway
Rock gently about its base, like something tall in a light wind
Object effectDrift up
Lifts away like a balloon let go — rising faster and faster, drifting and swaying in a calm wind; it sinks back down and settles with a bob
Object effectFly-by
Takes off, banks and flies past the camera — it comes back from behind the camera on the other side and sets down in place
Object effectGrow
Scale up (or down) and stay — settles with a small overshoot; switching off brings it back
Object effectLeaf fall
A gust lifts it and carries it away, gliding side to side and rocking like a falling leaf — it comes back fluttering down and settles softly
Object effectWorks well with
Halo
Scene-lit prints on a tilted ring; the picture that comes round to the front steps out toward the viewer, grows and comes to full colour while the others ride the ring faded and grey. Use for brand rings, collections and hero rotations.
Gallery layout3d Text
A word or line extruded into a solid with bevelled edges, from the same fonts as the text looks; takes any material. Use for logos, signs, titles and chunky labels.
ShapeAdvanced
Five advanced 3D materials: a mirror floor, refraction, see-through transmission glass, and two surfaces that distort or wobble the shape in motion.
MaterialAmbient Light
Even light from every direction with no source and no shadows. Use to lift dark areas or set an overall tint; pair with a key light.
LightBamboo
Light golden bamboo with a satin finish. For eco brands, spa and wellness scenes, kitchenware and modern interiors.
WoodBasic Carousel
A coverflow carousel of framed pictures on a damped scroll with drag, throw and snap, a lifted centre frame and a soft floor reflection; the cursor tilts or lifts the frames. Use for portfolios, product lines and photo sets.
