Constellation surrounds an object with a slowly tumbling sphere of stars joined by faint lines, like a star chart wrapped around it. The stars twinkle on their own rhythms and the lines fade in and out independently, so the network seems to flicker with activity.
How it works
The stars are spread evenly over a sphere, with small random differences in size. Any two stars closer than a set distance are joined by a line. Each star is a soft glow with a white-hot centre and a four-pointed spike, like a star photographed through a telescope, and the spike flares as the star brightens. Each line pulses with its own phase and speed. The whole sphere spins around the vertical axis while slowly tipping over, so the pattern never sits still.
Settings
- Star Count: from a sparse ten to a dense two hundred.
- Connect Radius: how far apart two stars can be and still be joined. Low values give scattered pairs, high values a dense web.
- Orbit Radius: the size of the sphere.
- Twinkle Speed and Star Size: the sparkle of the stars.
- Line Opacity: how strong the connecting lines are.
- Color: tints both the stars and the lines.
- Speed: how fast the sphere turns.
Use it for
Space and zodiac themes, network and connection visuals, data and tech scenes, starry night product shots. For a fuller night sky add Stars; for a network with travelling signals, see Neural Network.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More effects
Galaxy
A spiral galaxy from density-wave theory: nested elliptical orbits twist into arms, lit by young blue stars, dust lanes and a warm bulge. Use for space, cosmic, sci-fi scenes.
Black Hole
A ray-traced Schwarzschild black hole: gravitational lensing, photon ring and a Doppler-beamed accretion disk with relativistic jets. Use for space, gravity and cosmic scenes.
Neural Network
Pulsing nodes connected by signal lines. Use for AI, brain, network visualizations.
Aura
Soft pulsing glow shell around the object. Use for magical, mystical, holy effects.
Aurora
Flowing color ribbons (northern lights). Use for polar, atmospheric, magical-curtain effects.
Bubbles
Rising translucent spheres that pop. Use for underwater scenes, carbonation, magical effects.
Works well with
Blue Giant
Hyper-hot blue stellar surface — cobalt convection cells with blinding white-hot filaments
LavaBlue Star
Cool stellar atmosphere — cobalt outer fade with a brilliant cyan-white limb
CoronaComet Trail
A 3D comet cursor: a glowing head with a fading tail of light that follows the mouse across your scene. For space, sci-fi and night sites.
CursorCorona
Glowing halo materials for 3D scenes: a soft stellar corona that fades out from a core object and breathes slowly, in eight color moods.
MaterialLunar Regolith
Moon dust material: gray regolith under a harsh white sun and near-black sky, with faint sparkle and dead-still ripples. For space scenes.
SandMartian Regolith
Martian soil material: dusty rust-brown fines under a butterscotch sky, with long, matte ripples. For Mars, space and sci-fi 3D scenes.
