Aura wraps an object in a soft, breathing glow: up to five nested shells that are clear in the middle and bright at the edges, so the object looks lit from within by an energy field. Its colours slide through the spectrum as you orbit it, and bright streaks flicker across the surface.
How it works
Each shell is a sphere around the object, and only its rim shows: the more a part of the shell faces you, the more transparent it is. The hue depends on the viewing angle, on the layer and on time, which gives the iridescent shift. A drifting noise pattern thins the glow in places and, where it peaks, turns into sharp electric tendrils. Every layer pulses on its own beat, so the shells breathe slightly out of step, and the outer layers sit progressively further out.
Settings
- Layer Count: one to five shells. More layers give a deeper, softer halo.
- Fresnel Power: how thin the rim is. High values leave only a fine edge of light.
- Pulse Speed: the rate of the breathing.
- Noise Amount: from a smooth glow to a patchy, crackling one.
- Inner Color: sets the starting hue of the colour cycle.
Use it for
Holy or magical items, chosen characters, power-ups, mystical hero shots. For a glow that follows the pointer, see the Aura Glow cursor; for a solid ball of energy, the Orb.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More effects
Bubbles
Rising translucent spheres that pop. Use for underwater scenes, carbonation, magical effects.
Firefly Swarm
Kuramoto-coupled fireflies drifting on a divergence-free flow: random blinking slowly locks into sync, with ripples of light rolling through the swarm. Use for night, garden, forest, magical scenes.
Flares
Radiating lens flares with glow. Use for bright lights, magical shines, cinematic effects.
Glyphs
Floating symbols or runes circling the object. Use for magic, arcane, mystical effects.
Ice Halo
Atmospheric ice optics around the object as a light source: a dispersed 22° halo, sun dogs, a parhelic circle and a light pillar. Use for cold skies, suns, lamps, magic light.
Aurora
Flowing color ribbons (northern lights). Use for polar, atmospheric, magical-curtain effects.
Works well with
Aura Glow
An aura glow cursor: a soft iridescent halo with electric tendrils that follows the mouse. For wellness, magic and dreamy scenes.
CursorCorona
Glowing halo materials for 3D scenes: a soft stellar corona that fades out from a core object and breathes slowly, in eight color moods.
MaterialAurora Veil
Soft emerald-to-chartreuse halo drifting at a slow, dreamlike pace
CoronaBloom
Bloom post-processing: the brightest parts of a 3D scene glow and spill light, so neon, sparks and emissive materials read as light.
Post-processing effectCryo Magma
Slow violet cryo-magma with big lazy cells drifting under a soft lilac rim
LavaEnergy Orb
An energy orb cursor: a small boiling sun with iridescent plasma shells that follows the mouse. For sci-fi, energy and magic scenes.
