Mountains
A placeable patch of mountain land: ridged, eroded peaks with slope rock and a snow line, easing down to its base at the edge. Footprint is the object's scale. Use for alpine backdrops, islands of peaks and dioramas.

Mountains is a patch of mountain land you place in a scene like any other object: a small range of ridged, eroded peaks with bare rock on the steep faces and snow on the tops, easing down to its base at the edges so it sits on whatever is beneath it. The object's scale is the footprint, so the same patch works as a tabletop diorama or a range on the horizon.
How it works
The patch uses the same landscape model as the scene's endless terrain, cut to a footprint you control. Its shape is built from layers of ever finer detail, bent into branching ridges like those real drainage carves, with erosion flattening the valley floors. The surface is painted by height and by slope: meadow and scree low down, rock wherever the ground is too steep to hold anything, and snow above the peak line that slides off the sheerest faces.
Settings
- Shape and Ground: pick a landform such as Alpine range, Dolomite towers, Volcanic or Eroded highlands, and a ground such as Alpine meadow, Snowfields or Volcanic.
- Size, Height, Ruggedness and Rock & snow: the quick sliders.
- Edge fade: how far in from the border the land eases down; 0 ends in a cliff.
- Landform and Textures tabs: every number, including Ridge Sharpness, Erosion and Terraces, and a real photographed texture for each ground layer.
Use it for
Alpine backdrops, maps and product dioramas. Related: Hills and Canyon.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.

Canyon
A placeable patch of canyon country: stratified mesas cut by a branching incised channel network, easing down to its base at the edge. Footprint is the object's scale. Use for red-rock deserts, western and Mars scenes.
Dunes
A placeable patch of sand dunes: asymmetric wind-driven ridges with gentle windward and steep slip faces, easing down to its base at the edge. Footprint is the object's scale. Use for desert spots, beaches and Mars scenes.
Hills
A placeable patch of rolling hills: soft, domain-warped downland under grass and meadow, easing down to its base at the edge. Footprint is the object's scale. Use for countryside, parks and gentle dioramas.
Works well with
Cloud
Animated procedural cloud materials for any 3D surface: bright, sunset, dawn, stormy and overcast skies with silver linings and light rays.
MaterialVolumetric Dense
Heavy, dense volumetric clouds with high coverage, creating an overcast atmosphere
EffectBlack Volcanic
Black volcanic sand material: near-black basalt grains that glitter hard in low, raking light. For dramatic, high-contrast 3D scenes.
SandCirrus Thick
Thicker cirrus clouds with reduced transparency and more visible cloud structure
EffectDune Sea Dusk
Dusk desert sand material: tall dunes raked by a deep-orange setting sun, with ripples streaming on a strong wind. For cinematic desert scenes.
SandDying Ember
Dim charred coals, mostly cooled — heat only shows where the crust fractures
