Jade is a soft, semi-opaque green stone. Unlike the cut gems it does not sparkle: it lets only half of the light through, blurs what it shows, and has a gentle polish, so it looks smooth and carved, like a jade bracelet or figurine.
Settings
- Transmission 0.5: half of the light passes through, so the green reads as a solid, milky body with a faint inner glow.
- Roughness 0.25: the roughest stone in the family. What is behind the stone dissolves into soft colour.
- Thickness 0.7: a deep body, which suits carved, rounded pieces.
- Clearcoat 0.7 with Clearcoat Roughness 0.2: a soft, satin polish rather than a mirror coat.
- Env Map Intensity 1.2: modest reflections, so the colour, not the shine, leads.
- Color deep jade green: rich and slightly blue-leaning.
- IOR 1.66: fairly high, but with the blur and low transmission the bending is barely visible.
For a clear, sparkling green, use Emerald. Raise Transmission and lower Roughness to make the jade more translucent.
Use it for
Carved figurines, bangles and pendants, Asian-inspired decor and design, calm and natural brand scenes, spa and wellness visuals, and soft green 3D text. Jade works well on smooth, rounded shapes rather than facets, and under soft, even light. For a milky, pale stone with stronger reflections, see Opal.

CrystalWorks well with
Apollonian Grid
An Apollonian gasket of tangent circles built by circle inversion, re-balanced by a slow Möbius flow. Use for jewel-like, mathematical and luxury scenes.
GridAurora
Flowing color ribbons (northern lights). Use for polar, atmospheric, magical-curtain effects.
EffectDandelion Seeds
Dandelion seeds let go of the head one by one and drift away: a high-drag pappus gives them a slow terminal fall, and curl-noise wind with updrafts carries them. Use for meadow, summer, wish, gentle scenes.
EffectDunes
A placeable patch of sand dunes: asymmetric wind-driven ridges with gentle windward and steep slip faces, easing down to its base at the edge. Footprint is the object's scale. Use for desert spots, beaches and Mars scenes.
LandEmbroidery
Hand-embroidered lettering that picks satin, stem stitch, couching and French knots per stroke, with silk thread sheen under a moving light on puckered linen. Use for monograms, heritage brands and textile titles.
TextEngraving
The picture as an ink engraving on paper, fine strokes laid along its own isophotes, dense where it is dark, at a depth set by brightness; a change lifts and turns every stroke to the new picture's flow like filings in a field. Use for luxury, editorial, banknote and art direction.
