Painterly Soft

Painterly Soft is the gentlest painted cloud: a pale pinkish-white base with an almost white highlight, so the brush strokes show as texture rather than color. It is the quietest of the three painterly variants.

How it works

The cloud shapes come from a slow drifting noise, with transparency between them. A finer stroke pattern roughens their edges and shifts their color between Base Color and Highlight Color. Because the two colors are very close here, the strokes read as a soft surface grain. Brush Size is the smallest of the three and Brush Strokes the highest.

Settings

• Base Color and Highlight Color: keep them close for a subtle look, separate them for visible strokes.
• Brush Strokes and Brush Size scale the stroke pattern; lower values give fewer, broader strokes.
