Emerald Glass Material

Emerald in the glass family is a saturated green glass with gem-like shine. It is mostly see-through, with the scene behind it tinted deep green, and its surface reflects its surroundings almost twice as strongly as ordinary glass.

Settings

• Color emerald green: the defining colour, strong enough to tint everything behind it.
• Transmission 0.85: most light passes through, so the object stays bright and glassy while the green reads clearly.
• IOR 1.58: the bending of real emerald, a little more than window glass, far less than Diamond.
• Env Map Intensity 1.8: strong reflections, which give the gem its polish.
• Roughness 0.02 and Clearcoat Roughness 0.02: almost perfectly sharp, with the faintest softness.
• Clearcoat 1 and Thickness 0.4: a full glossy top layer on a fairly thin body.

Compared with the crystal Emerald, this one lets a little more light through (0.85 against 0.8), so it reads as lighter, more glass-like green; choose the crystal version when the stone should look denser.

Use it for

Green glass bottles and vases, gemstone and jewellery mock-ups, magic potions and fantasy relics, and green glass logos and 3D text for nature or luxury brands. Set it against a light background or under bright lights so the green glows through.
