Silicone is a soft, light blue material with a gentle sheen and a hint of transparency. It looks like a silicone phone case, a baking mat, a smartwatch strap or a baby product.
How it looks
Roughness is 0.4, a middle value, so lights leave soft, wide highlights rather than sharp spots. Env Map Intensity is 0.6, so in a scene with environment lighting there is a noticeable but blurred reflection of the surroundings. Opacity is 0.95: the object is almost solid, but anything directly behind it shows through very faintly, which keeps it from feeling as hard as solid plastic. The pastel colour keeps it friendly.
Settings
- Color: pastel blue is preset. Pastel pinks, mint and sand tones suit silicone products.
- Opacity: lower it to around 0.8 for a clearly translucent silicone, or set it to 1 for a fully solid one.
- Roughness: raise it toward 0.6 for a dry, powdery feel; lower it for a wet, glossy look.
Use it for
Phone and earbud cases, kitchenware and baking tools, wearables, baby and kids' products, soft keypads and medical devices. It pairs naturally with matte or brushed surfaces on the same model. For a stronger translucent look see Frosted Plastic; for a fully solid soft-touch surface, Matte Plastic.
