Layout is the classic 3D photo gallery: your pictures placed on frames and arranged in space by a layout you pick. The same set can be a grid of tiles, a circle, a spiral, a sphere or a tunnel that runs into the screen.
How it works
Each picture sits on its own frame, and the layout decides where every frame goes and which way it faces. The frame behind each picture takes the material you give the gallery, so a set of pictures can sit on glass, metal or any other material from the library. The frames also take motion effects (float, spin, sway, pulse and more) that run all the time, on the frame under the pointer, or on a click. A click on a frame runs the interaction you set for it.
Settings
- Layout: Scattered, Tiles (Grid), Horizontal, Vertical, Circular, Spiral, Arc, Pyramid, Helix, Box (3D), Sphere, Fan, Wave, Tunnel, Tunnel Pyramid, Tunnel Wave or Random.
- Geometry Type: the shape around each picture, from None (the picture alone) to a box, a bent plane, a cylinder, a ring or a sphere.
- Side: Front, Back or Both.
- Each layout shows only the settings it reads: Columns and Spacing for tiles, Radius, Rotations and Height Increment for a spiral, Depth and Scale Factor for a tunnel, Bounds and Seed for Random.
Use it for
Photo walls, portfolio rooms, an archive the camera flies through. More looks: the gallery variants.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More gallery layouts
Basic Carousel
A coverflow carousel of framed pictures on a damped scroll with drag, throw and snap, a lifted centre frame and a soft floor reflection; the cursor tilts or lifts the frames. Use for portfolios, product lines and photo sets.
Contour Lines
Pictures drawn as the contour lines of their own brightness, like a topographic map: inactive ones are a few thin grey lines, the active one fills in as a soft wave thickens the lines into the solid picture; the cursor lifts the contours into relief. Use for architecture, data and graphic showcases.
Depth Layers
Pictures split by brightness into thin sheets floating in depth: inactive ones are collapsed into one faint grey sheet, the active one opens into depth in full colour and its sheets slide past each other with real parallax. Use for editorial, music and dreamy showcases.
Engraving
Pictures drawn as banknote engraving, fine parallel lines bent and widened by the picture’s tone: inactive ones are a faint grey hatch, the active one thickens into full colour behind a soft wave; the cursor turns the hatching under it. Use for luxury, finance, heritage and editorial showcases.
Flow Lines
Pictures as fine lines flowing like water around their own forms: inactive ones are thin grey dashed lines drifting, the active one closes the dashes and thickens the lines into the picture in full colour behind a soft wave; the cursor parts the lines. Use for wellness, nature, music and calm showcases.
Fold
Pictures printed on paper folded in one of six ways (accordion, herringbone, fan, scroll, page curl, crumple) and lit by the scene: inactive ones are folded tight and grey, the active one unfolds flat into full colour; the cursor presses a dent into it. Use for print, editorial, fashion and craft showcases.
Works well with
Basic
The six standard 3D surface materials, from unlit flat color to physically based paint, clearcoat and cel shading. How each one takes light.
MaterialGLB
GLB is the single-file binary form of glTF, the 3D format made for the web. Upload a GLB to 3DRise and build an interactive scene around it.
Model formatGLTF
GLTF is the text form of glTF, the open 3D format for the web. Bring a GLTF into 3DRise and restyle it with materials and effects.
Model format3d Rise Mesh Shader Material
An unlit surface that shows a color or an image exactly as given, unaffected by scene lights. For screens, posters, panels and flat graphics.
Custom ShaderAdvanced
Five advanced 3D materials: a mirror floor, refraction, see-through transmission glass, and two surfaces that distort or wobble the shape in motion.
MaterialAluminum
Bright, lightweight aluminum with high reflectivity and slight surface roughness
