Copper is a warm, reddish-brown metal with a soft sheen, the look of copper pipes, pans and lamp shades. Its reflections are tinted a warm orange-brown, and they are blurred enough to read as a glow rather than a mirror.

Settings

  • Color copper: a reddish brown, warmer and redder than Bronze and less yellow than Brass.
  • Roughness 0.35: a satin polish. Highlights are broad and soft, like copper that is clean but not mirror-buffed.
  • Metalness 1: fully metallic, so all reflections take the copper colour.
  • Env Map Intensity 1.1: reflections slightly stronger than normal.

Lower Roughness to about 0.1 for newly polished copper; raise it to 0.5 and darken the Color for an older, dulled finish. The preset does not add green patina or tarnish; it is a clean copper surface.

Use it for

Kitchenware and cookware, lighting and interior details, pipes and industrial-craft scenes, steampunk and retro visuals, and warm metal logos and 3D text. Copper pairs well with wood, dark backgrounds and warm light. Like every metal it shines most when there is something around it to reflect, but its soft finish keeps it looking good under simple lighting too.
