The Box is a cube, one unit on every side, and the plainest building block in a 3D scene. Stretch it with the object's scale and it becomes a wall, a plinth, a crate, a step, a product display stand or a slab of floor.

Shape settings

The box has one shape setting, Subdivisions (1 to 24). It cuts every face into a finer grid. A solid box looks the same at 1 or 24, but the extra divisions matter as soon as you switch to a point or line display mode: Wireframe draws the full grid on each face, Vertices puts a dot on every grid point, and Surface or Volume scatter up to 40,000 points over or inside the cube.

Display modes and materials

Under Display, Solid shows the box as a surface. The point modes (Volume, Surface, Symmetric, Even, Vertices) turn it into a cloud of particles, and the line modes (Edges, Wireframe, Contours, Plexus) turn it into drawn lines with a Line weight setting. Any material goes on any mode: a clear glass cube for an ice-block hero, gold for a premium pedestal, matte plastic for a clean product backdrop.

Use it for

  • Pedestals and display stands under a product
  • Walls, floors and simple architecture
  • Tech-style cubes as points or wireframe
