In shell makes an object show the Harmonic Shell it sits in. The part of the object inside the shell takes on the shell's look, the line where it crosses the shell glows in the shell's rim colour, and the part outside stays exactly as it was. Inside, the object can bend with the shell's moving membrane like the contents of a bubble.

How it works

The effect keeps finding the nearest Harmonic Shell, so both can move and the look follows. The inside picks up the shell's colours, with soft scan bands drifting through it on the shell's own clock, and a thin bright seam plus a soft halo marks where the object crosses the membrane. The bending is strongest near the membrane, fades towards the centre, and needs a model with enough detail to bend smoothly. A Harmonic Shell can also switch this look on by itself for the objects it is set to affect as they cross it.

Settings

  • Inside look: Soap film, the shell's rainbow film colours, or Ghost tint, the object tinted with the shell colour.
  • Scan bands: how strong the drifting bands are.
  • Seam: the glow where the object crosses the shell.
  • Warp: how much the inside follows the membrane.
  • Core hold: how stiff the centre stays.
  • Duration: how long it takes to come on or go off.
