Metalize coats an object in metal the way molten metal would pour over it. A bright front sweeps over the surface, white-hot at the lip and cooling to orange just behind, a liquid ripple settles, and what it leaves is polished metal. It is a state, not an exit: the object stays metal while the effect is on, and reversing melts the metal back off.

How it works

The metal reflects its own built-in studio lighting, so it reads as metal in any scene, with or without an environment map. Metalize replaces the look of the whole surface, so it never runs together with Frost or Petrify on the same object; effects without that rule, such as Kintsugi or the trails, still add on top.

Settings

- Metal: Gold, Silver, Chrome, Copper, Bronze, Rose gold, Anodised titanium (with an iridescent sheen), Gunmetal, or Custom colour. - Polish: 1 is a mirror, 0 is brushed metal. - Molten edge and Cooling glow: the colours of the pouring front and of the glow behind it. - Pour direction: top to bottom by default. - Front pattern, and Duration (2.2 seconds).

Use it for

Awards and trophies, luxury products shown in gold, a hover that turns a logo to chrome, before-and-after finish demos. For permanent finishes, browse the metal materials such as Gold; to melt the object away instead, use Liquid metal.
