The Phyllotaxis Grid is a sunflower head drawn as a floor. Hundreds of florets spiral out from the centre, each a softly lit dome coloured by its age, packed without gaps. Rings of bloom travel from the rim toward the centre, opening a small mark inside each floret as they pass. The head never turns: the motion is the bloom.
How it works
Each new seed is placed a fixed angle around from the last and a little further out. At the golden angle, about 137.5 degrees, no two seeds ever line up, so they pack evenly with no gaps and no rings, which is how real sunflowers, pine cones and daisies grow. Each floret is a dome over its own cell, lit from the upper left. Each one opens with its own small delay, so the bloom fronts look ragged and alive rather than ruled.
Settings
- Divergence is the angle between seeds; 137.508 is the golden angle, and moving away from it changes how the florets pack.
- Bloom Rate is the speed of the bloom rings; negative sends them outward.
- Relief is the depth of each dome.
- Shape picks the mark in each floret from 21, including Seed, Crescent, Sparkle, Spiral, Star, Heart, Gear and Sunburst, or domes only.
- Shape Size and Shape Glow set the marks.
Use it for
Botanical, beauty and wellness brands, premium product floors, spring campaigns and nature education. The Parastichy Grid shows the same head as its spirals.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More grids
Parastichy Grid
The sunflower's crossed Fibonacci spirals (21 × 13, cut into triangles by the 8-family) as a grid, with light running inward. Use for organic and sacred-geometry scenes.
Reaction Diffusion Grid
A living Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion field: coral, labyrinths and dividing spots grow across the plane and never settle. Use for organic, biological and alien floors.
Advanced Grid
A Grid with shader material , animation and noise effects.
Apollonian Grid
An Apollonian gasket of tangent circles built by circle inversion, re-balanced by a slow Möbius flow. Use for jewel-like, mathematical and luxury scenes.
Basic Grid
Basic grid with cells and sections
Chladni Grid
Vibrating Chladni plates: sand settles on the nodal lines of a standing wave that drifts between resonances. Use for sound, music, science and meditative floors.
Works well with
Amber
Warm amber-colored glass with rich golden tones, ideal for vintage and natural aesthetics
GlassBamboo
Light golden bamboo with a satin finish. For eco brands, spa and wellness scenes, kitchenware and modern interiors.
WoodBlack Volcanic
Black volcanic sand material: near-black basalt grains that glitter hard in low, raking light. For dramatic, high-contrast 3D scenes.
SandIvy
Grow ivy over a 3D object: vines creep along its real surface and leaves unfurl. Reverse withers it away.
Object effectCedar
Warm reddish cedar with a dry, matte finish. For saunas, cladding, outdoor furniture and rustic cabin scenes.
WoodCitrine
A sunny yellow quartz gemstone material, clear and bright, for warm, cheerful jewellery and brand visuals.
