Relief
The picture embossed into paper by its own local contrast and lit by the scene; a change is a soft press travelling across the sheet, flattening the old impression and raising the new one as its ink lays down. Use for editorial, print, craft and product heroes.

Relief presses your picture into a sheet of paper. Edges and textures stand up as a low emboss, flat areas stay flat, and the scene's light rakes across the sheet. A picture change is a press travelling across the paper.
How it works
The paper is raised by the picture's local contrast rather than its brightness, so detail and edges emboss while a plain sky stays smooth. On a change, a soft crest lifts the paper along a moving front: the old impression is pressed flat under it, the new one rises behind it, and the ink of the new picture lays down darks first, then mid-tones, then lights. The first picture is printed into blank paper the same way. At rest the sheet breathes with two slow, very low waves that move the highlights. It is lit by your scene, and object effects work on it.
Settings
- Detail sets how fine the relief is; Depth how deep the picture is pressed.
- Crest, Spread and Sweep angle shape the travelling press.
- Roughness sets the paper from satin to matte; Paper colour the blank sheet.
- Self light adds a little of the picture's own colour so it reads in dim scenes.
Cursor
Press dents the paper under the cursor; Rake deepens the relief around it, like a loupe for texture.
Use it for
- Editorial, print and stationery brands
- Craft and premium paper product heroes
- Calm, tactile portfolio pages
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.

Roll
A print on paper; a change is a slim paper roll travelling across it, winding up the old print and laying down the new one, lit and shadowed by the scene. Use for editorial, stationery, packaging and calm product heroes.
Lenticular
A lenticular print: fine lenses over interleaved strips of the old and new picture; a change sweeps the flip across the sheet and depends on the viewing angle, with ribbed clearcoat highlights from the scene light. Use for collectibles, posters, fashion and retail.
Pinscreen
The picture as a pinscreen of fine metal pins, each standing out by the brightness under it with a domed head in the picture's colour; a change is a pressure wave that sinks the pins and raises the new relief. Use for tech, product and sculptural heroes.
Frost
A print behind a pane of real glass; a change is a breath of frost that feathers in from the edges, blurs the print through the glass, and clears from the centre to reveal the new picture; the cursor wipes the glass. Use for winter, luxury, beauty and calm editorial.
Prism
The picture printed across a row of slim triangular prisms; a change turns each prism a third of a turn in a travelling wave, its faces passing through the scene light, to show the next picture. Use for signage, retail, product and campaign heroes.
Contour
The picture as a topographic map of itself: a change opens it into hairline contour lines that lift into a floating stack in depth and flow continuously into the new picture's contours before it fills back in. Use for tech, data, science and architecture.
Works well with
3D print
Print a 3D object layer by layer like an FDM printer, with a hot nozzle and glowing layers, or show its slicer preview.
Object effect3d Rise Mesh Shader Material
An unlit surface that shows a color or an image exactly as given, unaffected by scene lights. For screens, posters, panels and flat graphics.
Custom ShaderColor Correction
Colour correction post-processing: adjust brightness, contrast, hue and saturation of a whole 3D scene to set its mood and match a brand.
Post-processing effectCopper
Reddish-brown copper with warm tones, great for pipes, wiring, and decorative elements
MetalCustom Shader
Custom shader surfaces for 3D objects: an unlit color-or-image surface to start from, and the shader materials you create yourself in the studio.
MaterialDepth of Field
Depth of field post-processing: blur everything in front of or behind the focus, like a camera lens, to draw the eye to your subject.
