Fireworks

Fireworks is a full aerial show. Shells rise from a rack of mortars, burst at the top of their climb and throw out stars that behave like real compositions: peonies that change colour, willows that droop in golden fronds, crossettes that split into crosses, crackle that pops and strobes that blink. Smoke from each burst drifts and is lit by the next.

How it works

Every shell, star and spark flies under gravity and air drag. Light charcoal stars stop quickly and hang, which gives a willow its drooping shape. Stars burn in three metal-salt colours, while sparks and gold stars cool from white through orange.

Settings

• Shell Type: a mixed show, or one of 20 kinds including Heart, Ring, Saturn, Kamuro and Text, which writes your own text in the sky.
• Formation: salvos whose bursts draw a line, an arc, a circle, a star, a heart and more.
• Launch Rate, Burst Size, Burst Height and Burn Time: how often, how wide, how high and how long.
• Random Fire and Fire On Click: let the show run on its own, or fire a shell that bursts where you click.
• Color, Second Color, Accent Color and Spark Color.

The cursor can aim the shells, blow a gust through the show, or reignite falling stars so they flare and burn longer.
