Vortex drain
Caught by a whirlpool: it spirals in and down, spinning faster as the orbit tightens, and drains away — reverting flings it back up out of the funnel

Vortex drain catches an object in a whirlpool beneath it and drains it away. The object is drawn out onto an orbit, then spirals in and down the funnel, whirling faster and faster as the circle tightens, spinning about its own axis, leaning into the funnel and shrinking into a point below its base.
How it works
Like water going down a plughole, the turning speeds up as the orbit shrinks, so the last turns are a fast blur. The return is the same drain played backwards, like a fountain: it is flung up out of the point, slows as the orbit widens, and is set down exactly where it started.
Settings
- Turns: how many times it goes round the funnel.
- Orbit: the widest circle, as a share of its width.
- Depth: how far it sinks, as a share of its height.
- Lean: how far it tilts into the funnel.
- Clockwise: the direction of the whirl.
- Duration: the length of the drain, and of the return.
Use it for
Water and ocean scenes, "delete" or "discard" moments, magic and portal stories, and transitions where one object needs to leave with weight. It runs on click or hover, inside an action, or as an entrance and exit tied to the object being shown or hidden. Compare the lighter, rising Swirl away, or add a Bubble trail for an underwater feel.

Blast off
Crouch, then launch straight up and out of the scene — it comes back with a powered landing: falls in, brakes hard, hovers, touches down
Object effectCurl smoke
Turn a 3D object into soft smoke that swirls away in eddies, or keep it as living smoke in its own shape.
Object effectFly-by
Takes off, banks and flies past the camera — it comes back from behind the camera on the other side and sets down in place
Object effectKnock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop
Object effectSlam
Hangs above its spot, winds up and slams down — squash, hop and rattle; it leaves by slamming down through the floor
Object effectSlingshot
Pulled back on an elastic, then let go — it snaps forward and flies off stretched; it flies back in and is caught by a spring
Object effectWorks well with
Shockwave
A Sedov–Taylor blast wave: a razor-bright front over a compressed shell that bursts out, slows and cools, raising dust and a brief condensation dome. Use for explosions, impacts, sci-fi pulses.
EffectHarmonic Shell
An iridescent soap-film shell shaped by morphing spherical harmonics, with glowing nodal lines. Use for energy shields, magic, vibration, organic sci-fi.
EffectMurmuration
A starling murmuration: thousands of boids with topological neighbours swirl around a drifting roost, folding into dense, wave-like sheets. Use for dusk, wildlife, flocking, atmospheric scenes.
EffectNeon Rain
Night rain lit by off-screen neon and a streetlamp, with gusting sheets, splash crowns and bokeh. The cursor is an umbrella, a gust or a headlight.
Particle systemPlasma Whip
A plasma whip cursor: a glowing tube of plasma lashes behind the mouse, longer on fast moves. For energy, gaming and sci-fi scenes.
CursorPortal
A wormhole funnel shaped like Flamm's paraboloid: a lensed view into another universe, Keplerian swirl and infalling, blueshifting matter. Use for portals, sci-fi gates, rifts.
