Slam is weight and impact. Coming in, the object hangs above its spot, winds up by rising a little and slowing to a stop, then slams down, accelerating all the way to the floor and stretched by the speed. The impact squashes it flat at its base, it rebounds in a small hop and rattles until it is exactly at rest.
How it works
The drop is fastest at the moment of contact, which is what gives the hit its weight. Squash and stretch keep the object's volume, so it bulges out sideways as it flattens. The rattle is a quick shake that dies away. Leaving is the same idea in the other direction: it lifts and winds up, slams down into the floor, and is driven through it, rattling, until it is gone.
Settings
- Height: how high it hangs before the slam, measured in its own heights.
- Squash: how flat the impact makes it.
- Rattle: the angle of the shake after the hit.
- Duration: the length of the entrance, and of the exit.
Use it for
Bold product entrances, titles and 3D text that land with a thump, game rewards and comic timing. Use it as the object's entrance and exit when it is shown or hidden, on click or hover (clicking again sends it through the floor), or inside an action. For a softer arrival that springs up instead, try Pop; for a spring without leaving, Jelly.

Blast off
Crouch, then launch straight up and out of the scene — it comes back with a powered landing: falls in, brakes hard, hovers, touches down
Object effectFly-by
Takes off, banks and flies past the camera — it comes back from behind the camera on the other side and sets down in place
Object effectKnock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop
Object effectSlingshot
Pulled back on an elastic, then let go — it snaps forward and flies off stretched; it flies back in and is caught by a spring
Object effectWhoosh
Streaks through its own spot again and again, each pass crossing the last, then brakes into place; it leaves the same way, in reverse
Object effectPop
Inflates and wobbles under rising pressure, then bursts to nothing — it pops back out of nothing and rings down
Object effectWorks well with
Distort
An animated distortion material that pushes the surface in and out with moving noise, turning a sphere into a living, breathing blob.
AdvancedShockwave
A Sedov–Taylor blast wave: a razor-bright front over a compressed shell that bursts out, slows and cools, raising dust and a brief condensation dome. Use for explosions, impacts, sci-fi pulses.
EffectHalo
Scene-lit prints on a tilted ring; the picture that comes round to the front steps out toward the viewer, grows and comes to full colour while the others ride the ring faded and grey. Use for brand rings, collections and hero rotations.
Gallery layoutImage
One picture shown through a 3D construction that animates every change: shards, prisms, lenticular prints, paper, frost and more.
ObjectMurmuration
A starling murmuration: thousands of boids with topological neighbours swirl around a drifting roost, folding into dense, wave-like sheets. Use for dusk, wildlife, flocking, atmospheric scenes.
EffectPlasma Whip
A plasma whip cursor: a glowing tube of plasma lashes behind the mouse, longer on fast moves. For energy, gaming and sci-fi scenes.
