Knock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop

Knock away hits an object from the side and sends it flying. It compresses for an instant at the impact, flies off on an arc slowed by drag, tumbling as it goes, and is gone. Where it is struck matters: a tall object hit high tips and tumbles, while a flat one mostly skims.
How it works
The tumble is worked out from the hit: the higher above or below the centre it is struck, and the taller the object is compared to its width, the more it spins in flight. The return is a throw from the other side with back-spin that runs out just as it lands upright, followed by two shrinking hops and a small rock before it settles.
Settings
- Struck from: the left or the right, judged from the screen when it starts.
- Strength: how far it flies, as a share of its size.
- Arc: how high it travels.
- Hit height: from 0, struck at its base, to 1, struck at its top.
- Duration: the length of the exit, and of the return.
Use it for
Game-like interactions, playful brand scenes, "remove" and "dismiss" actions and comic timing. Put it on click or hover so visitors can knock things over themselves (clicking again throws it back in), use it in an action, or as the object's entrance and exit. Add a Shatter trail for debris along the arc.
