Voxelise digitises an object into small cubes, then lets the cubes peel off and float away. As a front passes, the surface disappears and a cube pops in with a brief flash in its place; a moment later the cube lifts off, tumbling and shrinking as it rises. Reversed, every cube flies back and the surface re-forms.
How it works
Each cube is a real lit block that casts shadows and holds the average colour of the patch of surface it replaced, so the object stays recognisable as a blocky version of itself. With Disappear off, the default when you keep it on an object, it stays digitised as a voxel model: every cube in place, a scan line climbing the rows and a few cubes flickering.
Settings
- Resolution: how many cubes across the object's largest side. 26 by default; 6 is chunky, 70 is fine. - Float: how far the cubes drift away. - Scan colour: the flash along the front. - Direction and Pattern: where digitising starts. Bottom to top by default. - Disappear: off to keep the voxel model. - Duration: 3 seconds.
Use it for
Game and pixel-art themes, tech and data stories, the moment a real product becomes digital. Leave cube copies behind a moving object with the Voxel trail, or scan it in with Hologram scan.
More object effects
Voxel trail
A moving 3D object leaves copies made of cubes that drop from the top, tumble and shrink away.
Object effect3D print
Print a 3D object layer by layer like an FDM printer, with a hot nozzle and glowing layers, or show its slicer preview.
Object effectBlast off
Crouch, then launch straight up and out of the scene — it comes back with a powered landing: falls in, brakes hard, hovers, touches down
Object effectHologram scan
Scan a 3D object into a glowing hologram with a sweeping plane of light, then switch it off, or keep it as a hologram.
Object effectKnock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop
Object effectLiDAR scan
Sweep a laser across a 3D object and turn it into a scanned mesh and point cloud, like real LiDAR capture.
Object effectWorks well with
Club
The club card suit as a solid 3D shape: three round lobes and a flared stem, ready for any material. Use for casino, poker and card-game scenes.
ShapePhong Material
Classic shiny 3D shading: soft diffuse color plus a sharp highlight. For retro 3D, glossy plastic and quick, light scenes.
BasicPrism
The picture printed across a row of slim triangular prisms; a change turns each prism a third of a turn in a travelling wave, its faces passing through the scene light, to show the next picture. Use for signage, retail, product and campaign heroes.
ImageShield
A solid heraldic shield: flat top, straight sides and a curved point, with adjustable width. Use for security, gaming, sports and crest visuals.
ShapeSpade
The spade card suit as a solid 3D shape with a flared stem and soft bevel. Use for card-game, poker and casino scenes.
ShapeTruchet Grid
Smith quarter-circle Truchet tiles forming endless two-coloured loops; tiles turn to re-route the paths and comets travel them. Use for playful, retro and generative floors.
