Hologram slices an object with a stack of horizontal, see-through scan planes, as if a sci-fi display were projecting it. Scanlines sweep across each plane with a slight red and blue fringe, a fine grid glows over them, and every so often the image jumps sideways in a glitch or dims in a flicker.

How it works

The planes are evenly spaced from below the object to above it. On each one, bands of light scroll steadily, drawn three times with a small offset so the colour channels separate the way they do in a misaligned projector. Soft interference fringes drift across the planes. At random moments a band of the image shifts sideways and settles back, and the whole hologram briefly drops in brightness. Every few seconds the planes rebuild from the bottom up, as if the projection were assembling itself again. Everything is added as light, so the object stays visible through the stack.

Settings

  • Scanline Count: how many scan planes are stacked.
  • Scan Speed: how fast the bands scroll.
  • Flicker Amount: how often the brightness drops.
  • Grid Enabled: the fine grid overlay.
  • Glitch Enabled: the random sideways jumps.
  • Scan Color: the colour of the whole projection.
  • Intensity and Opacity.

Use it for

Futuristic product reveals, sci-fi displays and HUDs, tech and AI branding. The Hologram scan object effect turns the object itself into a projection, and Glitch post-processing works on the whole frame.

Code and API

Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
