Data Stream wraps an object in two spiralling streams of glowing particles, one winding up and the other down, like data or energy flowing through a tech scene. Each stream shifts colour along its length, and the particles grow larger and brighter toward the head of the stream.
How it works
The particles ride along two spirals around the object, half a turn apart and moving in opposite directions. Each particle fades in at one end and out at the other, so the streams look endless. Colour runs through a gradient from a cold colour, through a mid colour, to a hot colour, and the second stream runs it the other way with a slightly shifted tint, so the two read as separate flows. Every particle is a soft dot with a small cross-shaped sparkle, and the radius of the spiral breathes slightly for a less mechanical look.
Settings
- Particle Count: particles per stream.
- Spiral Turns: how many times the streams wind around the object.
- Stream Radius: how far from the object they run.
- Particle Size: the size of each dot.
- Inward: reverses the direction of flow.
- Cold Color, Mid Color and Hot Color set the gradient; Color tints its far end.
Use it for
Tech and AI products, data visualisation backdrops, energy and charging moments, sci-fi interfaces. See also DNA Helix for a structured double spiral and the Circuit Grid for a tech floor.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More effects
Field Lines
Analytic magnetic dipole field lines around the object, with trapped particles bouncing between mirror points like the Van Allen belts. Use for sci-fi planets, energy cores, magnetism.
Hologram
Scanline + glitch overlay. Use for futuristic UI, projections, sci-fi displays.
Lichtenberg
A Lichtenberg figure grown by the dielectric breakdown model: a glowing fern of electricity creeps over the surface, holds, fades and regrows. Use for energy, sci-fi, power and lightning scenes.
Portal
A wormhole funnel shaped like Flamm's paraboloid: a lensed view into another universe, Keplerian swirl and infalling, blueshifting matter. Use for portals, sci-fi gates, rifts.
Strange Attractor
Glowing trails of a Lorenz, Aizawa or Thomas strange attractor, integrated with RK4; neighbouring strands drift apart. Use for chaos, science, data art, energy.
Aura
Soft pulsing glow shell around the object. Use for magical, mystical, holy effects.
Works well with
Electric
High-frequency blue-white lightning on every line: a hard core, a blue glow, fast flicker and strikes that come and go.
Line EffectsGhost
Glowing signal packets racing along every line with fading trails and glitch flicker, in phosphor green.
Line EffectsGlitch
Glitch post-processing: short bursts of digital break-up across a 3D scene at random intervals, for tech, gaming and music looks.
Post-processing effectHologram scan
Scan a 3D object into a glowing hologram with a sweeping plane of light, then switch it off, or keep it as a hologram.
Object effectHolographic Crosshair
A holographic crosshair cursor: a spinning targeting ring with four ticks that follows the mouse. For games, HUD interfaces and sci-fi product pages.
CursorIn shell
The object shows the Harmonic Shell it is in: the part inside takes the shell's film, the crossing glows, and the inside sways with the membrane — reverting puts the plain object back
