Ghost sends glowing signal packets racing along every line. Each packet is a sharp, bright head followed by a trail that fades out behind it, in the phosphor green of an old oscilloscope or radar screen. Short glitch flickers break across the lines now and then, and a faint glow keeps the wires visible between packets.

How it looks

Several packets travel along each line at once, each starting at its own point and moving at a slightly different speed, so they never march in step. When a packet reaches the end of a segment it starts again from the other end. The head uses Signal Color and the trail Trail Color, a dimmer green. Thin horizontal flickers of interference appear in random strips several times a second.

Settings

  • Speed sets how fast the packets travel.
  • Packet Count sets how many packets run along each line at once, up to eight.
  • Trail Length sets how long the tail behind each head is.
  • Glitch Intensity sets how strong the interference flickers are; zero turns them off.
  • Signal Color and Trail Color set the palette; swap green for amber or cyan for a different screen.

Use it for

Data flow and network visuals, circuit and infrastructure diagrams, retro computer aesthetics, cybersecurity and fintech scenes, and hologram-style wireframes. For a full-color data look, pair it with a grid object or the glitch post-processing.
