PVC is an off-white plastic with a slight sheen. It looks like plumbing pipe, window frames, cable sheathing and other building and industrial products: clean, plain and functional.

How it looks

The colour is a near-white grey. Roughness is 0.45, just on the smooth side of the middle, so lights leave a soft highlight with a little definition, and long cylindrical shapes such as pipes show a clear lit stripe along their length. Env Map Intensity is 0.5, a moderate reflection of the surroundings in a scene with environment lighting. Compared with ABS, it is whiter and a touch shinier.

Settings

  • Color: off-white by default. Grey and terracotta tones match drainage pipe; blue and green match fittings and cables.
  • Roughness: lower it to 0.25 for glossy uPVC window frames; raise it for weathered outdoor plastic.
  • Env Map Intensity: increase it for a cleaner, newer look.

Use it for

Plumbing and building product visualisation, window and door frames, cable and wiring diagrams, industrial and technical explainers, and any clean white object that should look manufactured rather than painted. For a glossier, more premium white see High Gloss White; for a matte everyday plastic, Polypropylene.
