Maple is a light, creamy wood with a clean satin finish. It looks modern and tidy: paler and less yellow than pine, warmer than birch. It is the wood of contemporary kitchens, gym floors and minimalist furniture.
How it looks
The colour is a soft cream-beige. Roughness is 0.65, so the surface has a quiet sheen rather than a shine; highlights are wide and low. Env Map Intensity is 0.3, enough to keep it from looking flat in a scene with environment lighting, not enough to look varnished. Because the tone is light, it shows shading clearly, which makes the form of a model easy to read. There is no painted grain.
Settings
- Color: push it slightly toward white for bleached maple or toward honey for older pieces.
- Roughness: drop it to 0.3 for a sealed sports-hall floor with a visible sheen.
- Env Map Intensity: raise it a little alongside lower roughness for a lacquered look.
Use it for
Kitchen and furniture visualisation, sports and studio floors, toys, desk accessories, and light product backdrops where a bright, natural base keeps attention on the product. Maple pairs well with darker woods as a contrast: a maple panel in a Walnut frame. For an even paler, cooler wood see Birch.
