The Light Bulb is a point light you can see: glass, a glowing filament and a screw base, with the light sitting right on the filament. Switching it on runs a warm-up: the filament goes from grey through dull red and orange to full colour, and switching it off cools it down more slowly, the way tungsten does.
How it works
The bulb draws its own glow: a soft light inside the glass, strongest where you look straight through it, and a halo around the bulb. Both follow the light's real output, so when the brightness or colour is animated, the bulb dims and tints with it. Only the metal base casts a shadow. It stands base down; turn the object upside down for a pendant.
Settings
- Shape: Classic, Globe, Edison (a tall teardrop with a vintage cage filament) or Tube. Each has a matching filament.
- Glass: Clear, Frosted or Tinted, with Glass tint for the colour.
- Colour: Temperature or Custom colour. In Temperature (K), 2700K is warm incandescent, 4000K neutral and 6500K daylight.
- Power switches it on or off; Warm-up (s) is the time to heat up.
- Flicker adds random dips; Halo sets the glow around the bulb.
- Intensity, Distance and Decay set how far the light reaches.
Use it for
Cafes, bars and cosy interiors, idea metaphors and vintage or industrial product scenes. For a flame instead of a filament, see the Candle.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.

Ambient Light
Even light from every direction with no source and no shadows. Use to lift dark areas or set an overall tint; pair with a key light.
Candle
A candle with a flickering flame that casts warm, moving light on its surroundings. Use for cosy, intimate and night scenes.
Directional Light
Parallel rays from one direction (like the sun). Use for sunlight, moonlight, key light.
Fluorescent Tube
A fluorescent tube
LED Array
A let array
Point Light
Omnidirectional light from a single point. Use for bulbs, lamps, candles, fires.
Works well with
Bloom
Bloom post-processing: the brightest parts of a 3D scene glow and spill light, so neon, sparks and emissive materials read as light.
Post-processing effectRim light
Light the edges of the targets, like a backlight catching the silhouette — sweeping on in a direction
Object effectAfterimage trail
Leave fading glassy copies of a 3D object along its path whenever it moves. A motion trail you add to any move.
Object effectAura Glow
An aura glow cursor: a soft iridescent halo with electric tendrils that follows the mouse. For wellness, magic and dreamy scenes.
CursorAurora Ribbon Trail
An aurora cursor: a ribbon of northern lights trails the mouse, flowing green, cyan and magenta. For night, nature, winter and dreamy scenes.
