The LED Array is a light you can see as the tiny chips that make it: a single die, a strip, a panel or a ring of small bright squares, each with its own glow. It lights the scene and behaves like LEDs, not a bulb: it switches on instantly unless you set a warm-up.
How it works
The chips lie flat, facing downward, around the point the light shines from. A diffuser sheet can be laid over them: as it thickens, the separate hot spots melt into one even glowing panel, and the shadows the array casts get softer too, because a bigger source casts a softer shadow. In RGB mode each chip takes its own hue, a rainbow runs across the array and can chase along it like an addressable strip, while the room is lit by the mix of all of them.
Settings
- Layout: Single, Strip, Panel or Ring. Dies, Rows, Spacing and Die size shape it.
- Colour: Temperature, Custom colour, or RGB. Hue spread and Chase set the rainbow and its speed.
- Diffuser turns separate dies into one soft panel.
- PWM brings back the fast on-off cycle a dimmed LED runs on, which a camera sees as a slow strobe.
- Source set to Hidden leaves only the light, to drop into a housing of your own.
Use it for
Tech products, gaming setups, signage, studio panels and neon-style accents. Pair it with Bloom, or see the Light Bulb for a warm filament instead.
Code and API
Ready-to-paste React Three Fiber code and the 3DRise API are included in paid plans, inside the studio.
More lights
Ambient Light
Even light from every direction with no source and no shadows. Use to lift dark areas or set an overall tint; pair with a key light.
Candle
A candle with a flickering flame that casts warm, moving light on its surroundings. Use for cosy, intimate and night scenes.
Directional Light
Parallel rays from one direction (like the sun). Use for sunlight, moonlight, key light.
Fluorescent Tube
A fluorescent tube
Light Bulb
A bulb mesh with point light init
Point Light
Omnidirectional light from a single point. Use for bulbs, lamps, candles, fires.
Works well with
Afterimage trail
Leave fading glassy copies of a 3D object along its path whenever it moves. A motion trail you add to any move.
Object effectBloom
Bloom post-processing: the brightest parts of a 3D scene glow and spill light, so neon, sparks and emissive materials read as light.
Post-processing effectChromatic Aberration
Chromatic aberration post-processing: split the colour channels into thin fringes for a lens, VHS or glitchy screen look.
Post-processing effectGlitch
Glitch post-processing: short bursts of digital break-up across a 3D scene at random intervals, for tech, gaming and music looks.
Post-processing effectGlow
Light the targets up with an emissive glow
Object effectPolycarbonate
Clear polycarbonate with a smooth reflective finish. For visors, safety glasses, shields, lamp covers and tough transparent parts.
