Shake makes an object tremble on the spot: small, nervous movements in position plus a little roll, like something rattling, vibrating or scared.
How it works
The tremble is built from smooth noise rather than a new random position every frame, which would look like flicker. Each direction of movement and the roll follow their own noise track, so the shake feels organic and never repeats in a pattern. Its forward-and-back movement is half as strong as the rest, so most of the tremble shows up and down and side to side. It eases in when switched on and settles back still when switched off, and it is layered over the object's own position and animation, so it can shake while it floats or moves.
Settings
- Strength: how far it moves, as a share of its height.
- Rate: how many jitters per second; low is a slow rattle, high is a buzz.
- Roll: how far it tilts as it shakes.
- Duration: one pass of building up, shaking and settling; with Loop on it keeps shaking.
Use it for
"Wrong answer" or error feedback, alarms and phones ringing, rumbling engines, earthquakes, and nervous characters. Run it on click for a quick rattle (triggering again settles it), keep it on with Loop for a vibrating machine, or switch it on in an action. For a slower circular lean, use Wobble; for a hit followed by a rattle, Slam.

Knock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop
Object effectSlingshot
Pulled back on an elastic, then let go — it snaps forward and flies off stretched; it flies back in and is caught by a spring
Object effectWhoosh
Streaks through its own spot again and again, each pass crossing the last, then brakes into place; it leaves the same way, in reverse
Object effectAsh trail
A moving 3D object leaves copies that burn from within along a glowing ember front and are gone.
Object effectBlast off
Crouch, then launch straight up and out of the scene — it comes back with a powered landing: falls in, brakes hard, hovers, touches down
Object effectBounce
Hop on the spot — a real arc with a squash on every landing
Object effectWorks well with
Plasma Whip
A plasma whip cursor: a glowing tube of plasma lashes behind the mouse, longer on fast moves. For energy, gaming and sci-fi scenes.
CursorParticle systems
Interactive 3D particle systems: sand, dust, sparks, rain, plankton and fireworks that follow real physics and react to the cursor.
ObjectPlasma Lightning
A lightning cursor: electric bolts strike in toward the mouse pointer, flash and fade, with a new shape every strike. For tech, gaming and energy brands.
CursorShape Burst
Bursts of charged particles that spiral out in a magnetic field and land exactly on a mesh shape, white-hot cooling to two family colours, then dissolve; the cursor detonates, curls or pulls them. Use for reveals, logos and impact moments.
Particle systemShockwave
A Sedov–Taylor blast wave: a razor-bright front over a compressed shell that bursts out, slows and cools, raising dust and a brief condensation dome. Use for explosions, impacts, sci-fi pulses.
EffectAura Glow
An aura glow cursor: a soft iridescent halo with electric tendrils that follows the mouse. For wellness, magic and dreamy scenes.
