Whoosh is an entrance with momentum. The object streaks through its own spot again and again, each pass crossing the one before it like an X seen from above, then comes in on one last line, brakes into place, overshoots a touch and settles. Leaving plays the same timeline backwards: it bolts off along that line, then streaks through its spot the other way round, and is gone.
How it works
Each streak runs straight through the object's resting spot at speed with a soft arc that alternates up and down, and the angle between crossings opens a little wider with every pair. While it streaks it stretches along its motion, keeping its volume, and banks into it. Between passes it briefly disappears. The final arrival brakes sharply, then it overshoots past its spot and rings back.
Settings
- Passes: fly-throughs before it settles; add duration when you add passes.
- Reach: how far each pass runs either side of its spot.
- Stretch: how long it gets while it streaks.
- Mirror: starts the first pass from the right.
- Duration: the whole entrance, or the whole exit.
Use it for
Hero product entrances, title reveals, sports and energy brands, and openings that should announce an object. Use it as the object's entrance when it is shown, on click or hover, or inside an action. It pairs naturally with an Afterimage trail or Light streaks, which draw each crossing.

Fly-by
Takes off, banks and flies past the camera — it comes back from behind the camera on the other side and sets down in place
Object effectSlam
Hangs above its spot, winds up and slams down — squash, hop and rattle; it leaves by slamming down through the floor
Object effectBlast off
Crouch, then launch straight up and out of the scene — it comes back with a powered landing: falls in, brakes hard, hovers, touches down
Object effectKnock away
Struck from the side: it flies off on an arc, tumbling by where it was hit — tall things tip, flat ones skim; it is thrown back in and lands with a hop
Object effectShake
Tremble on the spot — smooth, nervous noise in position and roll
Object effectSlingshot
Pulled back on an elastic, then let go — it snaps forward and flies off stretched; it flies back in and is caught by a spring
Object effectWorks well with
Shockwave
A Sedov–Taylor blast wave: a razor-bright front over a compressed shell that bursts out, slows and cools, raising dust and a brief condensation dome. Use for explosions, impacts, sci-fi pulses.
EffectPlasma Whip
A plasma whip cursor: a glowing tube of plasma lashes behind the mouse, longer on fast moves. For energy, gaming and sci-fi scenes.
CursorShape Burst
Bursts of charged particles that spiral out in a magnetic field and land exactly on a mesh shape, white-hot cooling to two family colours, then dissolve; the cursor detonates, curls or pulls them. Use for reveals, logos and impact moments.
Particle systemDistort
An animated distortion material that pushes the surface in and out with moving noise, turning a sphere into a living, breathing blob.
AdvancedFire
Flame particles rising upward with hot-to-cool color gradient. Use for fire, torches, flames.
EffectFlares
Bursts of hot plasma erupt from the edge of an object, like flares on the sun. Use for suns, energy cores, magic and power-up moments.
